Our world premiere was at the Venice International Film Festival in September. The documentary got the red carpet treatment, picking up plaudits from The Hollywood Reporter, Sight & Sound and Film Comment.
Hi Fuller Fans!
Welcome to AFullerLifeDoc.com, the offical website for the upcoming documentary about maverick American film director, Samuel Fuller.
Here’s the rundown on what the crew of A FULLER LIFE has been up to since the Kickstarter finished at the end of last September.
WE FINISHED SHOOTING
Yup, we finished shooting the last four segments of the film. In late November, Sam Fuller’s muse Constance Towers gave us a pre-Thanksgiving reading to be thankful for, and in December we had a triple-header with Joe Dante, William Friedkin and Jennifer Beals turning in fantastic performances. Also, we created a nifty opening credits sequence that highlights lots of Fuller memorabilia from Sam’s office, The Shack.
GILLIAN WENT TO WASHINGTON
Our producer, Gillian, did a 10-day research trip at the Library of Congress in D.C. and the National Archives’ Motion Picture & Sound Recordings Division in Greenbelt, Maryland. She brought back hi-res photos and 35mm footage that will help us tell Sam’s story with a bit of America’s heritage.
WE TRANSFERRED MORE OF SAM’S FOOTAGE
With the help of Nik Ward (son of The Big Red One’s Kelly Ward) and the brilliant technicians at Fotokem we transferred more than an hour’s worth of Sam’s never-before-seen home movies and front line war footage to HD.
